"Peter Pan" surgery stirs up controversy

I think that the bottom line here is that - whether you agree with it or not - this decision was not made lightly. I'm sure that the family and doctors put more time and thought into this decision than we can imagine.

This has been discussed widely in the media over here, I found myself agreeing with all sides while reading what they were saying! It's wrong to alter handicapped children but it's also right to do it out of love what this family have. In the end all I could think was that (thank goodness) it wasn't my decision to make and my heart goes out to the family. I can't imagine what they go through daily and what they face over the coming years so perhaps I don't have a right to have an opinion on this? If what they did was out of love and they really thought it was they best thing for her it's hard to argue it's not.
