I was comparing movements between the Chon-Ji and Tae Guek forms today. You see I'm on a quest to figure out when and why we changed alot of the movements over the years. I believe in the chon ji set we have nore of the stronger stances over the long hual and yet the Tae Guek stances allow you to move a little quicker. So what is your take on this?

I would tend to agree. Then if you look at the Palgue, they contain more of the low, strong stances you were talking about. I have always been told that the Taeguks were developed to make forms more like sparring, most people do not get into the low, strong stances while sparring, they stay up and mobile. They also emphasize more kicks than the early Chang Hon forms.
