Yeah and I just cant see cops reading that and incorporating it...sorry but my expereinece of cops has been not much up top...the cops that do have high IQs Im sure get promoted above a street beat. What's needed in australia (not sure about other countries sorry) is an approach similar to the UKs where a 'back off' principle is followed. Instead of flooding them with information such as if they have these symptoms do X, other symptoms do Y, there needs to be a clear concencus in terms of mental illness that you do NOT go in without a way out. Call for back up, do whatever you have to do but dont confront the guy and then get yourself into a corner where you have to use lethal force. Sounds simple? Look at australias cops...
