Hi everyone,
I have always wanted to do martial arts and finally have found some free time. I was hoping I might be able to get some suggestions of place to take a look at or avoid at all costs. I personally don't have a preference as to what style as long as it would be good quality self defense and would work well for my wife and I. Any help would be great.
thanks,
zdawgnight

I recommend you check out Horizon Martial Arts which is run by Tim Hartman. Tim teaches Modern Arnis and has a Balintawak background.

Thank you Brian For the advice I took a look at horizon and it looks like a solid contender for us. And I appreciate the welcome instructor.

Any other suggestions for martial arts would be greatly appreciated

Are there places that are more stand outs at tower styles?

Not in my opinion. I think some of them let you do a class or watch one. Might be worth stopping in.
