I myself prefer Scott but most call me Mr. Scott, Sir and I have about 5 Black belts under me from other styles that insist on calling me Sensei. Either names are fine as long as they don't call me what I'm called at home, LOL

The school where I came up through 2nd degree used "Mr/Mrs/Sir/Ma'am"
The school I found when I moved back to Portland used "sifu"
The school I owned used "sensei," mostly because my instructor at the time favored the Japanese kosho.

Just my experience. I'm unconvinced that it matters.
