That most of the high quality "tactical" knives are out of the price range of those who need the the most (LEOs and grunts)? And most of the same knives are more likely to be ground instead of forged?
About a year ago, I plunked down the money on a Strider. I like the design. Nice and simple with very clean lines. However, the steel didn't retain an edge as long as most of my other knives. And speaking of those simple lines, they are a relatively easy knife to produce.
I'm kind of ranting here, mainly cause I'm shopping for a knife to give to one of my wifes students (former now unfortunately) when he graduates jump school down at Benning.
