Speaking of classic vs. modern Republicans, a telling quote from a great Republican president and general:

That speech rocked, and I loved the Texan who wrote in and explained that Bush was the state's revenge on Yankees for having lost the Civil War.

Two things have been clearer and clearer on "Prairie Home Companion," this last year: Keilor's growing and already-profound Christianity, and his gentle yet profound contempt for that fool, George Bush.
