Google update

I am going thru pc and using Revo Uninstaller to get rid of stuff I don't need.

I then hit the autorun Manager and see that Guugle update starts up everytime I turn on my pc. Do I need this??
I have googled it and some say no while others say it doesn't hurt to let it run.

Advice?

It doesn't hurt. It's not like it brings your computer to a screeching halt, but if you are low on memory and trying to clean up your computer, than its alright to delete the program from the startup folder.
