Read about flights being canceled from Paris to LA and the return fligts as well, Here

I created a new thread for this, instead of the Level increase to Orange, to try to keep th thread on topic, and not rhetoric.

I read about this earlier--I wonder what the specific threat was.

Lots of intelligence work goes on that we rarely hear of!

I was hoping for some cross referenced articles, and maybe piecing together some information. And yes much goes on that the J Q Public never knows about, and it is not a conspiracy.

I could image the threats. Last year when I flew around the world, I flew from Detroit to Frankfurt. From Torino to Frankfurt and then to Nygoya. From Nygoya to Detroit. The best security was Detroit. The least security was Turin. Once on in Turin, and the stop over in Frankfurt, then the long flight to Nygoya. Although, the 'Escort' over Russian air space was interesting.

With the increased security here in the US, I would expect that it might be easier to obtain access in other countries. I could be wrong, as I have not seen Paris and thier system.

Ha, Tons of it never sees the light of day.

France has been infamous for years as a haven for terrorists so it is only logical (I know logic/military intelligence don't go together) that France be looked at with a little extra scrutiny. I also heard reported that several flights from Mexico to LAX were cancelled for security reasons as well.

It does make sense that Christmas would be a target for non-christian terrorists. It's the holiest time of the year for the christian world and a time of year when most folks are most emotionally vulnerable.

One of my co-workers was directly affected by this, she was scheduled to fly out yesterday from here, L.A., to Paris. The elevated terrorist threat screwed up her entire schedule. Well, it's always better to be safe than...
