Interesting points:

-- The candidates (Kerry and Bush, Cheney and Edwards) are expressly forbidden from actually asking one another direct questions (so how is it actually a debate?)

-- The candidates can't bring in props or prepared notes

-- The candidates cannot issue challenges for additional debates

-- The candidates cannot appear in any other debates or "adversarial forums" with any individuals other than Kerry, Bush, Cheney, or Edwards on radio or television

Now with Bill Moyers did an interesting review of the upcoming debates on his program this week. The reason these debate rules exist in this manner is because the 'Commission on Presidential Debates' is an organization formed by the RNC & DNC. They build the rules so that the Debate actually becomes a 'scripted infomercial' according to the the report. Must of the report is based from the Book 'No Debate' by George Farah.
