Nice long video, Brian where they throwing nails or soikes in the middle of the clip
They are bo shuriken, although, I think there are other names for them as well. They are essentially throwing spikes. I guess a well placed one would be lethal, but I think their intended purpose were distraction and harrasment of the attacker to buy time.
