Wu Lian Zhi explained;

1. if you lose at your hand, do not lose at your elbow.

2. if you lose at your elbow, do not lose at your shoulder.

3. if you lose at your shoulder, do not lose at your head.

4. if you lose at your head, do not lose at your hip.

5. if you lose at your hip, do not lose at your knee.

6. if you lose at your knee, do not lose at your foot.

and vice versa.

this happens in unison as one combined movement as to ensure you do not lose. Defensive fighters are used to 123 combos
here is an example of 1-6
However, those from the Li Shu Wen lineage can go far deeper than that
