Also don t forget the fight nearly always gos to the ground if one of the fighters is a grappler.

All fights end up with one guy on the floor and the other guy kickin him
The next time I get into a fight I will drop my guy and then 100% of my fights will have gone to the ground.
I think the LAPD study was probably right. I would think the statistic came from Law Enforcement and it makes sense that in a "fight" they would want their guy on his face to make it easier to cuff them.
I heard this in 1985 or so, I'm sure it came from some police report. Mr. LaBounty might know. Mr. Swan could have gotten that info from him and even though we were told this in class, we did not do a lot of grappling although we did it on occasion in the late 80s before I left. Mr. Swan has a complete set of skills. I'm sure he gave us what he thought we needed and I'm sure he knows better than I do what that might be.
