Muay Thai Training. Day 1

Today I did my 1st Muay Thai Lesson.
First of all all of us warmed up by doing some stretching and so on just normal stuff.
The difficult part is,...... *Footwork*. It is more difficult than the actual punches and kicks.
I struggled with footwork so hard in the warmup. We had to throw Jabs / Cross' / Uppercuts while standing and doing the "Muay Thai March". I have to remind all of you, that I have no background in Martial Arts, I didnt even know what to do. I just tried to copy what I saw in Box Fights, and it was good enough, but my form and footwork while doing those repeadatly was trash.

Because I was just thrown in, and everybody is ahead of me, I have to catch up with them while
doing this for the 1st time in the lesson.
It wasnt as bad as I though tho.
The first Lesson was to do a basic "1, 2" combo with a partner. One person punches, the other blocks and they switch. A Jab is pretty basic so I could figure that out on the fly and do it. The Trainer came by to remind me
*To ask him when I need help, because I am new*. He is an awesome Teacher and it was nice of him to come by, but because I am an airhead, I never asked anything.
The Second Lesson was a "1, 2, Cross" (I dont know the names dont bully me I am 14).
The Cross is really really difficult at first. My Partner reminded me to keep my arm in a 90 degree angle and to use my hips and feet motion to get power. After he reminded me of that a couple of times, I could do that as well.
After that it was pretty easy or alright.

The next best part was a "1, 2, low kick".
The low kick was pretty fine and alright, but the teacher stopped everyone and told us, that we are allowed to do light body kicks instead of the low kick, or switch them up.
When I tried to stand still and just to extend my leg, it didnt work. I thought I need a ton more flexibility training than anything.
But when I tried my first body kick in my life, it actually was a good one. I didnt just kick straight through my Partner, but I know I could've with the power I could have put into it. The MartialTalk community told me, that flexibility training is needed, but its also easier to do some kicks against bags or something to kick against than thin air. And that gave me a ton more hope. I was able to do a simple kick to a torso and didnt need weeks of flexibility training as I thought I would. (Thanks MartialTalk community I <3 you)

The next excercises were uppercuts and nothing special for a bit. Uppercuts arent that hard to pull off (at least in training) so it wasnt that hard as I thought.

The next interesting thing was to do body shots. "Everyone! Do a cross against your Partner's Torso! Everybody switch up the Partners!" our Trainer said.
My Partner was a pretty old man, not a grandpa, an ordinary 50+ year chubby man who wanted to take muay thai classes as a hobby. I didnt do any of my Cross' with force, because I am not a person to hurt anyone (at least for now).
But the old man stopped me and said:" Try to kill me."
I just went:" Huh?"
He repeated:" Try to hit me with the intention to kill me."
And I went again:" Huh!?"
And he said:" I am a person who insulted your mom, try to hit me as if you were trying to kill me."
And at that moment I let loose of my right cross and twisted my hips and feet as if I were punching somebody who actually insulted people I cared about.
He said:" Atta boy now with the Left! Now again with the Right!.."
And the lesson ended there.

I went into the lockers to get changed and another dude I didnt partner with today, asked me why I joined.
I told him what I wrote in the "Meet and Greet" section on this Forum. I saw a Boxing Fight, but I liked kicks, so muay Thai (in a pretty short version).
We fist bumped and went on. On my way out, I saw the old dude again.
I fist bumped with him as well, while he was hitting a bag with his own Boxing Gloves and we said
"Meet you again Tomorrow".

Muay Thai has so many great people, I definetly gonna go there tomorrow as well.
And ripperonies my english. I gonna go to bed now. I am dead.

Edit: What we did was a "1,2 Hook". I am watching some videos and I cant see the diffrence between the jab and cross, need to ask my Trainer today I guess.
