Every day that I can go to MA class is a good day

I am always happy when I can train. First of all, I really like practising MA and learning new stuff. But there is more to the reason I am glad to be able to go to class.

If I can go to MA class, it means that my kids are safe and in the care of someone I trust. It means that I am healthy enough to make it to the dojo. It means that there was no disaster at work that prevented me from attending. It means that there is no pressing and unforeseen need for me to be someplace else. In short, if I can go to MA class, it means that all the improtant things are going just fine, and that is something to be happy about, in and of itself.

And yesterday was a good day at practise too. We were practising a couple of locks. And one of them was a wrist lock that involved a pressure point. I've practised this lock before but could not really get it right. Yesterday I finally got the right 'feeling' and I was able to put my training partner on his toes with just the pressure point. :)

We also started the class with kihon training, which I like very much. All the technical stuff is very interesting, but I like kihon because it is what martial arts is about (imo). Someone tries to hit or kick you. Do something about it. You can never practise enough kihon.
