Hi:
Recently began Kosho Ryu training in Augusta, Maine, and am beginning to sniff out some of the deeper roots. Probably premature to begin looking into the connections to Buddhism, but that's actually where I want to go.

Some simple Tai Chi training, and Aikido while living in the macrobiotic community around Michio Kushi.

I also was involved in J.G. Bennet's schools, looking into the work of G.I. Gurdjieff. One key here was awakening the intelligence and creativity of the body...I see that as VERY big in Kosho Ryu (and all the arts).

Practiced TCM (acupuncture/herbology) for several years.

So, what I got so far is that it's important, if not vital, to actually work personally with someone who actually does know, and can teach.

Also important to round out mind, emotion, body, to get balance.

So, beginning Kosho Ryu, I smell the connections, and am patiently moving ahead. Kosho seems like it's pretty broad and deep.

We'll see.

If there's anyone out there who is involved in TCM and the Martial arts, I'd like some links to some resources.

Shiatsu anyone?

thanks,

Colin
