I had a student tell me he used to do Swando. Never in my life have I heard of it. Anyone else? Any links where I can see Swando in motion?

Is it the name of a club or an instructor rather than a style? I've never heard of it either and there's nothing on Google.

Wasn't Mike Swan an Olympic judoka? Could it be that the guy studied judo at a school run by him?

That could be. Next time I see him I'll have to find out who taught him this.

Could he have meant "Bando"?

Maybe it's like SWAT training, it's Special Weapons and Ninjas-Do

Can you ask this student what they teach there? This could certainly go a long way towards clearing things up.

The problem is it can be spelled completely different. Maybe an Americanized pronunciation, but the name is spelled completely different. Trust me it happened to me too with a co-worker.
