I saw in the news that a marble chunk fell off the facade of the Supreme Court building this morning.

Early reports from structural engineers seem to indicate that it may be because the Supreme Court is starting to lean too far to the right....

A little levity for the morning.

Too far to the right? No such thing.

Go too far right, and pieces of the facade falls off....Too fall left and the roof caves in, and the whole thing collapses.

Facism proved sustainable?

You guys still operating under the false assumption that national socialism is the same thing as conservatism? I thought we covered this already.

There's a point at which the far right and far left meet.

Far right is not liberalism and far left is not conservatism, that is very true.

That is my point. As far as the comment about 'leaning right', I would have hoped it would have been taken in the tongue-in-cheek tone it was given.

That's no different than communism = socialized medicine.

Far right = facism.

Hmmmm. I don't recall calling communism socialized medicine, if that's what you're insinuating. My memory fails me, sometimes, perhaps you could refresh it.

If you mean, in a general sense, that socialized medicine has been called communism, is that supposed to be an argument proving that you're right, or that you're equally wrong with someone else?

I'm confused.....

It's a common comparison by the christo-facists on the forum. (Love that PC speak that's not supposed to be PC but is, like islamo-facist... Always reminds me of McBain's Communist Nazi's....) Also the intimation that the left collapses tends to hint that you were taking a swipe at communism rather than a comparatively lukewarm version of liberalism.

And, what's more, is that supposed to be an argument proving that you're right, or that you're equally wrong with someone else?

That only works if you consider the democratic party on the extreme pole of the liberal spectrum. As I never made such a claim, your tangent is revealed as such.

Oh yeah, wakka wakka wakka.

So, what you're saying is, you're angry at an alleged group called 'christo-fascists'? hmmmmm.

As far as taking a swipe, I was just poking a little fun. Some people are obviously a little sensitive. Perhaps, too, I may have anticipated your overreaction. It's character building, the whole thread was meant in a humorous way anyway. I don't recall anyone calling anyone else 'islamo-fascist' or 'Communist Nazi' in the thread, until you interjected that bit of angry rhetoric.

I mean, for goodness sake, the whole thread was about pieces of the marble facade of the Supreme Court falling, and it being because the Supreme Court was 'leaning too far to the right'. You're reading FAR TOO MUCH in to the entire conversation.

Lighten up, man, it's almost Christma...er, sorry, 'Winter Break'. <chuckle, chuckle>

Me too; we're in total agreement here on both points. I'm just glad nobody was injured.
