As time moves along, we find out more and more of why the legendary Dan Henderson left the world's biggest MMA promotion, the UFC, to roll the dice with Strikeforce. There was the lure of potential fights against Jake Shields, Gegard Mousasi and possibly even Fedor Emelianenko. But the biggest reason was to concentrate on fighting, and as Henderson said, "get rid of the red tape and bull[expletive]."

As negotiations with the UFC dragged on, the promotion decided to ban Clinch Gear apparel, owned by Henderson. That's when the former Olympian knew things had turned:

"It's just funny. When someone says no hard feelings, nothing personal, it's all business and then they do that as well, it seems a little bit personal."

White told the media just before UFC 107 that he and Henderson spoke on the phone when the deal became official with Strikeforce. In seemingly threatening tones, he said Henderson knew where he stood.

Henderson said that's not the way the phone call went at all. He doesn't take any of this personally because he realizes White is very emotional at times.
