His Daughter Sarah is the one that went crazy on the GM Facebook site posting obscene comments to people commenting about her fathers departure from the company.

GM's Whitacre to get $9 million pay package

General Motors Co.'s newest chief executive will get a pay package valued at $9 million, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.
Ed Whitacre Jr., who took over as CEO last month, will get a cash salary of $1.7 million, plus stock worth up to $7.3 million

I believe they choose the $9 Million USD as the Banks had limites for $10 Million.
