Depending upon the instructor and the part of the country, I have seen charges ranging anywhere from free to over $100 per hour. I guess its all about perceived value.

My instructor, and the instructor who taught him, both charge $50 and hour for private lessons but you can have up to 5 people in it if you wish, so it can be split. I usually do it with one of my mates so it only costs us $25 and he can watch and critique us. Im in Syd, Australia btw :ultracool

I think most instructors charge way to much but if the students are willing to pay, then who am I to criticize.
I teach such small classes that it is almost like having private lessons anyway
