Finally, some good news for Illinois gun owners

The Supreme Court of Illinois ruling, regarding People of v. Diggins, has finally come forth:

In a nutshell, you can transport an unloaded firearm in any enclosed container, portable or not.

This is good news for gun owners, since it now clarifies what was previously a very, very murky patchwork of laws.

What is surprising, is that the majority ruling was delivered by a Chicago judge...

This appears to be primarily on how to transport a firearm. Will this in any way loosen the restrictions on obtaining and owning a gun in that state?
