can anyone more experience tell me if there's a good approach when it comes
to test out your skills on other MAs?

Most schools will not allow anyone from off the streets to just come in to sparr. For many reasons, one being if you got hurt that school would be liable. The only way that I know that you could do this is if you knew the owner/teacher.
