Actor Chuck Norris to become honorary Texas Ranger
(AP) – 2 hours ago
GARLAND, Texas (AP) — Actor Chuck Norris for years played a Texas Ranger on television. Now he's going to become one in real life.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to present the actor and executive director of "Walker, Texas Ranger" with a designation as an honorary member of the famed law enforcement group Thursday.

Bah, screw that sanitized Cordell Walker TV character.

What about Chuck's "Lone Wolf McQuade" Texas Ranger role from the 1983 movie?

Duking it out David Carradine, sucking face with Barbara Carrera and after beaten to a pulp & facing death while being buried alive in his SUV - still finding time to crack open a cold one.

NOW THAT WAS A ROLE MODEL :)

Underneath Chuck Norris' Honorary Texas Ranger badge is just another fist.

Chuck Norris wasn't made an Honorary Texas Ranger out of respect, but out of fear.

Chuck Norris was actually made an Honorary Texas Ranger twice, but the first time he accidentally round house kicked his badge into orbit during practice.

It took such a vast amount of honor to make Chuck Norris an Honorary Texas Ranger that there is none left for anyone else to ever be made an Honorary Texas Ranger again.

Good for him, I think he stands for good morals and awesome character, of which is lacking greatly in todays entertainers.

Now the Texas Rangers won't sleep; they'll wait. And when crime and villainy least expect it, they should expect it. One day the bad guys will wake up..... and it will be time.

Time to die.

To quote radio personality Steve Morrison:

"Chuck Norris humbly accepted his promotion to honorary Texas Ranger...then proceded to beat up Mexico"

He's a theocrat. You may enjoy the laws of our country dictated by the Church (which one?) but most of us realize it's not a very good idea.

Yeah but... he is not actually in power, is he? And barring a broad rewrite of the constitution, he never will be. If he wanted to, he'd just roundhouse kick the constitution. ?He hasn't done so yet.

Chuck Norris MIGHT be a theocrat, but he has no political power. Obama IS a socialist and is currently president.

guess who I am more afraid of

To Empty hands: Norris has every right to support and participate in the political process in the capacity that he does, regardless of whether or not you or anyone else agrees with him. Plenty of liberal and conservative celebs do the same and it is their right. This is not a political discussion, so please do not turn it into one.

Twin Fist, lets not bring Obama into this. Indeed, he is in power, so his views are far more relevant (for better or worse) than Norris' views, but this type of discussion can turn into a train wreck so very fast. Lets not feed it.

Not everyone quivers in fear of conservative Christians in the political arena. Nor does everyone become anxious about liberals in the political arena. Both men have views indicative of different parts of our population and the fact that many varying views can occupy our political arena at the same time is one of the things that makes this country wonderful.

Now lets get back on to the OP before Chuck Norris reads this thread and glares at his screen, causing all of our keyboards to ignite!:p

Please point out where I said otherwise.

I didn't bring it up.
