i saw 2 types of person in dojo yesterday.

ONe is agressive . When sparring, this person will go all the way
Second is quiet and NONE agressive. When sparring, this person moves softly.

based on your experiences as MA instructors, who will you like to teach???

i read a few posts in the past and somebody here mentioned NONE agressive person can be EXTREMELY dangerous. Is this true???

thanks

Each has their own challenges. I find it more tiresome to have to constantly calm down someone who is over aggressive.

Each person IMO has their own strong/weak points. While one might look at the aggressive guy as being the better fighter, that is not to say that the quiet guy can't bring it out if he needed to.

Now, for your question, who would I want to teach? I'd teach both! For the aggressive student, you'd need to step back and take a close look at how this guy is fighting. If he is so wild that he has no good defense, then someone with better timing is gonna nail him all the time. Take that aggression, fine tune it, and make sure that the basics are where they should be.

The quiet student. I'd work him to get more aggressive. Being quiet, again, does not mean that he can't fight, but he can't be so relaxed that he's going to get walked through.
