Army uses MACS to improve security

One of Apple's major marketing themes is that Macs are less susceptible to viruses, Trojans, and other hacker attacks than Windows PCs. While that argument has yet to hold much sway with enterprise I.T. departments, it is causing the U.S. Army to add some Macs to its networks.

I am sure all you Aplle fanboys will be happy as this provides you with some more ammo against PC's. Like someone else said though, "PC is like a lady, you have to threat her right."

I don't know that Macs are that much less susceptible to viruses and trojans than Windows PCs, but rather they are less often the target of the malware creators. If you're a vandal looking to mess a bunch of people up you'd get the most bang out of your creation by targetting the largest 'audience'.

I've heard of trials with optical boot systems with ubuntu ( or some self made distro of that ) to get even more security.

The bootable ubuntu's are nice to play with

Yeah, I think a better way to go would be some Linux distro.

It's BSD, yeah, it's slightly less 'drive truck through' than Winblows.
