I memory of my father, Happy Birthday Army.

Happy Birthday, Army!

I wonder if the Navy, Air Force and Marines chipped in and bought 'em anything. :tank:

Happy B-Day to the Army.

I do have a couple of questions though?

I know the Declaration was signed in 1776. I see in the article that they say the army was created in 1775. Are there other articles that dicsuss the reasons for the colonial army to be formed in the first place in 1775?

Thank you

The Navy and Marine Corps were both formed in 1775 as well...october and november respectively. I assume that even though the declaration wasn't signed until 1776 that it was already assumed that war was inevitable. Maybe one of our historians on board can help out with the specifics here.

From my Memory I recall these facts, as well as the Confederacy that ran the colonies until 1789, and the U.S. Constitution, which create the Republic we know today.

I was just curious for some more reading and learning possibilities.

Thanks
