The part that got to me beside the whole thing (outstanding) was the instructor pushes school work first. Now that's a class act my friend.

Karate=sport???? I would be offended if I was the teacher. Who knows why in articles you always read Martial Art=Sport!

But hey great father who was willing to go back to MA for his daughter, great example.

What a great article and what a remarkable girl. I am sure that her work in MA is going to help her reach her goals towards being an OB/GYN. I also hope it helps her balance her stress a little bit and take some time to be "quiet" and enjoy. She looks like she is kind of tough on herself.

Still, a really cool thing to see the father / daughter relationship.

As her instructor, you should definitely feel proud.

It doesn't offend me. She was the "Student Athlete of the Week." Should it have read the "Way of Life Student of the Week"?
On that note, martial arts are not a way of life. They are a mix between a sport and a hobby. One's religion is one's way of life, not a fighting/art system.
I think we as martial artists turn people off by correcting them when they call martial arts sports.
