I think that these "gymnastics" or acrobatic techniques are starting to become a part of tkd. Take a look at this video:
I think ktigers are among some of the best martial arts, especially for poomse. That being said they call these acrobatics moves show tae kwon. An art specifically developed...
I think it can go either way, especially with kids. I would say first of all that you shouldn't have a dominant leg, but that most people prefer there right leg. In my experience this is not because they are left or right handed but because fighting stance starts with your right foot back. So...
I think that your first impression is not entirely wrong, and yet not entirely right. Poomsae flow. In a way there is a rhythym to every form, but this varies by style/which form your doing, and rarely follows the generic 1,2 1,2. In the beginning it may be taught to you like this but as you...
When I learned how to do my 540 I realized that while I was twisting I would lose track o where my body was in space. It sounds crazy, but I fixed it by closing my eyes. When I tried to do it with my eyes closed it forced me to figure out exactly hiw much i needed to turn. When I opened my eyes...
I agree that 30 days to splits is probably unreasonable. I tried to achieve this and just ended up pulling my muscles. The reason I ask about this specific plateau is because it seems like a lot of people get stuck here, and are unable to fully open their hips. Is it genetic? Or does i t just...
Mostly I want a flexibility for higher, nicer form kicks. And I probably should explain myself more. When I say "break" I don't meant trying to o from a v to full splits in a week. I realize it is wrong to force people to the point of tearing muscles. I am inquiring about the last maybe 10-15...
Hey guys, i have been stretching really consistently for about 3 months now and am happy with my progress. However, I seem to be a little bit stuck. I'm not quite in full splits yet and my hips don't open as much as I'd like them to. It's been a few weeks now where I've been kinda stuck. So I...
Hi everyone, I am going into my summer before college and I am beginning to realize that at the end of this summer I will have to find a new dojang to train at. I am going to University of Illinois Champaign Urbana in the fall and was wondering if any new of a solid WTF style tkd program at the...
I had a mooto hogu, honestly I didn't like it that much(I think it may have been a little small). On another note does anyone know the difference between these two daedo hogus? http://www.daedo.com/shop02/skin/shop.php?PG=view&uid=2430

What's everyone's thoughts on Daedo and Adidas hogus? Pros cons? Preferences? I usually used Adidas, but am looking to try out the Daedo style gear. Any input would be great!
Does anyone know where teams like ktigers get their music from? I know a few of the tracks are remixes that can be found on youtube, but others I cannot find at all! Do they make their own music? Or is there some secret tkd music database that I am completely missing? I was watching the...
Alright, so I'm going to college in about year and was checking out taekwondo clubs. I found some stuff about sparring and a few demo teams, but none of them seemed to be really good. Does anyone know of any schools with good teams? Or even teams that aren't connected to the colleges?
Great idea! To go along with this, i have seen (actually at a gymnastics place) is to use low price security cameras. You can hook them up to a tv and just rewind the video. This allows students to watch themselves easily and in class.
I know! I miss techno. Did you own the nike hogu? Is it way better than the daedo? Lighter? Better material? If not the daedo seems like a better option because of price. I dont think that the hogu makes the player anyways, so if its not substansially better, its probably not worth the price.
I'm in the market for a new chest protector, I have competed in wtf sparring for the last seven years, but have been out of really competitive sparring for the past couple years. I have used mostly adidas and techno(too bad they're gone) gear in the past and am looking for something that I can...
