I'm very interested in learning Korean as well. Not just to help in Taekwondo, but my girlfriend is Korean and her dad doesn't really speak English. He's a very nice guy, and I wish I could speak to him without having her translate between the two of us. I tried a book/CD set but it kinda...
I voted no relevance to me, because I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing regardless. I don't think it really matters what other people are doing. Or at least I'd like to think I think this way. Yes, some people are more focused on the physical aspects of martial arts, but is it really our...
I think this usually happens to forums once all the questions have been answered. I agree with MBuzzy, that sometimes you just need new blood to get things started.
I just searched Hulu, and they have them.
This show is like that time when you're hanging out with your friends and you're like... "Man, a samurai is such a crazy warrior." and then your friend is like, "Yeah, but a Viking warrior would so kill him." I think I saw a commercial where a "Yakuza"...
Yeah, I wear a knee brace too. It's one of those Ace Tek Zone ones. I have the one that has the metal hinges too, but it doesn't fit me anymore. It's just now starting to feel full again after losing all that muscle.
I wear something revealing for my lady. But in all seriousness I like to make home-made cards that will make her crack up. I also know how to cook something more than just macaroni and cheese or top ramen. I would think anything would be good as long as there was some thought and effort...
Instead of just putting one word like "Welcome" let's start a conversation. Isn't it crazy how starting to do anything active makes you feel so out of shape? I remember when I was on my hiatus for Taekwondo, then I was a kid and did multiple classes back to back. I come back five years later...
I have this book, but I got distracted and stopped reading it.
Right now, I'm re-learning Schaum's Outline for Intermediate Algebra. Yay! Going back to school!
Okay, so some people don't like him because of his troubled past, but I for one am part of the general public that loves a comeback. It looks like in Robert Downey Jr.'s case he attributes his recovery and comeback to Wing Chun. Or so it seems in May's issue of Men's Journal...
I'm pretty sure the film was meant to be really over the top in some of the action sequences.
Oh and by the way, I loved how they had John Murphy's "In the House - In a Heartbeat" that song is just sooo epic!
I used to compete a lot in mostly local and regional tournaments. I competed on a national level before but I ended up breaking my foot against a guy's elbow and ended up just getting hurt a lot. I'm retired from competing now.
I would think the damage by the labret spike would be pretty minimal to you anyways. It'll probably tear the crap out of the inside of his lip though. I agree with the previous posts. Don't punch him there dead on. If he hassles you again, just stab him with your hair.
I just think this is sad. I mean, I'm not exactly Captain America, but it's just a shirt. I mean, why weren't kids sent home on Cinco De Mayos before? Also there was one example where a kid was wearing an Old Navy shirt and it just happened to have an American flag on it. It's just dumb.
Yeah, I did speak with my doctor and all she told me was that if it hurts, then stop. Right now my knee is probably at 99% of what it used to be. I only feel pain if I bend my knee all the way, but other than that I can run, I can just about almost squat. I appreciate all the comments, I...
When I was competing in Taekwondo, I used these (but mine are ADIDAS). Along with the foot parts. I liked these a lot more because I found with the one-pieces it kept slipping up and exposing the "knuckles" of my feet.
I found that these were easy enough to clean. I just sprayed and wiped...
Hi, I injured myself practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 6 months ago. I have a torn meniscus and my doctor suggested to try strengthening the muscles around the knee as an alternate way of fixing it. The other way would be surgery. What I want to know, is how much stress is there on the knees in...
Your knee is probably fine now. With sprains, I usually go with the RICE method. It's not exactly traditional as it is modern medicine that you learn if you ever go see a doctor. RICE is an acronym for:
Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate
The rest is for obvious reasons. Your joint, your knee in...
What's not to love about this movie. Extreme violence and hilarious comedy. The fact that Hit Girl is like 11 just makes things better. This movie's perfect.
I just finished watching Ip Man and Ip Man 2. I liked the first more, but the 2nd was also really really good. I just wished that there was more. I didn't want it to end.
Your training sounds good. I would also work on push and side-kicks as well as roundhouse kicks. During a tournament you're typically going to go up against two kinds of fighters. The first one will usually try to charge in and overpower you. This is when the push and side-kicks come into...
