Never. But there are people I've met who I have those feelings for. But I have heard of this phenomenon of punch me face. My older brother and I were walking years ago in downtown and he said to me "that guy over there has a beautiful nose to punch, I just want to flatten it" I laughed but I've...
Just got done with a workout. And afterwards I'm sitting here reflecting, and I asked myself what is my reason for training? My reasons are self defense, health, meditation and I love my art. What are your reasons everyone? Just thought it would be cool to see what others say.
I agree. Sometimes people have to make a moral decision that isn't legal. Say for instance someone owns a pistol and lives in a bad neighborhood and applied for their carry permit, they have been getting threats towards them and their family but they don't have a license to carry, the moral...
I think everyone is guilty of having a slip up every once in a while privacy wise. No matter how hard you hide your address or personal info, if someone wants to find you bad enough in the USA they can. That's not to say we shouldn't try to make it harder for them. My goal is to make it hard to...
I'm not a law breaker, but some laws are stupid. Up here as long as youre 21 and not a felon you can concealed carry a gun. I'm pro 2nd but where this gets stupid is if you get caught carrying certain types of knives or impact weapons you go to jail. I knew of a guy who did 3 weeks in county for...
Epcot is my favorite there,2nd is universal. I only been to epcot once, my younger brother went back to Orlando a few times since we grown up and had great times, I was jealous a bit, not Mad but sad I couldn't go too.
I have no experience in teaching blind or visually impaired yet. But from my experience I'd recommend an art that you can go by contact. So even if you can't see you can feel. The main arts that come to mind are wing chun or Brazilian jiu jitsu. I knew of a lady who was legally blind who trained...
If anyone wants to watch bellator fights, not brand new ones but previous fights. Check out Pluto TV. I've been watching alot of fights this weekend on there. It's pretty cool and free. They also have a kickboxing channel, and pro wrestling. I mostly watch the mma stuff though. I went to a...
I would never wear a belt I didn't earn. I have too much respect for martial arts to do something like that. Also do you know what level belts fight in intermediate no gi? Is it normally just blue belts or blues and purples? I had a training partner who was a purple and competed at advanced. But...
I've been training for about 7 years. Was going to a school and the instructor told me he was going to test me for blue, ended up moving and going to a new school and only doing no gi. I've been training for a while and want to compete again in the near future. But I don't want to be a sand...
Happened to me in judo once. A long time ago. Normally it went from white to yellow then green then brown then black. I skipped yellow and tested for green. I trained for 9 months for that before testing though. So was a white belt longer than most yellow belts normally would wait.
What made you buy it. Like what results do you think it will help me with reflexes and timing my punches? Really want a double end cause I know I could work on that stuff, but it's not an option right now.
I've been considering getting one for a while now. Not sure what attributes it develops but would like to know also. Obviously hand eye coordination and speed maybe accuracy and rhythm if there's anything I'm missing let me know. I wanted to get a double end bag for my house but not enough room...
Use the bookie method...break their kneecaps and make em pay ya double. But in seriousness the butt strikes he demoed in that video and the horizontal strikes along with the traditional way to swing is how I'd use a bat.
Yeah it wouldn't be true sparring. The one I've been doing lately is, opponent throws a right cross, I slip it to the outside, trap the arm, knee to liver, outside leg sweep. I like this style of training and I think there's great value in it. I still do my normal stuff, but think most of my...
I'm trying to improve my visualisation so I can get to the point where I can do some sparring in my head. I can only do about 3 moves right now, but I think I'll get better at it with more practice.
Thats an awesome story. And you even ended up using the same moves as a jailer. That's more proof visual learning and visualization can work when uses right. Thanks for sharing bro.
I agree with this post and the other post about "use what you got already" I see lots of people focusing on tricking their gear out but not practicing or taking training classes or courses.
So I want to talk about a phenomenon I've seen and personally experienced, but doesn't get talked about much. Mental reps. This can apply to any art I think but I personally experienced this in bjj. So I trained alot for my 1st comp, but in my 2nd match I pulled off an armbar set up I read in a...
I think it's panzer but not sure, saw a benelli m4 clone from a company think it was panzer, it's like 300 bucks and great reviews. I'd get one if I had disposable income lol. For a 300 dollar shotgun thats almost identical to an m4 it's a steal
I'm gonna watch bloodsport for like the 10th time lol. I've watched Lionheart before and also kickboxer, but blood sport has always been my favorite van damme film. I haven't watched the quest yet I don't think, unless that's the one when he joins the foreign legion. On a side note, there's...
This! I have the same view. I did judo for 9 months tested for green(the belt before brown), 95% of the classes I went to started like this, warm up, rolls/breakfalls, conditioning, technical work learning new throws and set ups on the crash pads, the rest drilling and after that randori. So...
An average couch potato would greatly benefit from any art. But doing mma training would probably be too intense at first. Full body stuff I think of that gives a good workout is kickboxing, boxing, and karate, also grappling styles. Weapon arts are good too. But when you watch weight loss shows...
