sure, I understand about the resistance thing but am in teaching mode which is to teach or show something specific. If my student was to go all out then what am trying to show I would not probably apply. I would do or go on to some other move which would negate what i was trying to demo..

I did not learn the HG pole from Henry, but my si-dai who is a Hung Gar Sifu..I worked with him on The Wing Chun and he taught me Hung Gar..I had an interest in Hung gar pole..I'm not a sifu in Hung Gar just a student so I don't promote it..Am just a Wing chun guy who knows a little about Hung...

I would have to see someone doing what your saying, perhaps its similar. I dont follow the hand i just let my oppoent move my hand..Kind of like hitch'in a ride then when hes at his full yang I recyle it.. kind of like push hands..I have a few other basic drills i do to show the floating...
NO, Am not doing what you are saying. Am not using forward energy or compressing as you say.I allow the force to travel to its target, I do not stop it ..I simple go with his force then redirect it with my floating elbow. its like an exchange of Yin and Yang. I dont impose my force on my opponent.

His methond is good I also use my waist to power the floating elbow.. I use this push pull as well.. He uses a lot of rising and falling in almost every move..I do this also but not to this extent,,I perfer to use a more od a circular approach,
