Hey guys, been a while since I've posted something on Martial Talk.
Anyways, I was searching on Wikipedia, and I stumbled across this relatively new Hawaiian art called "Kajukenbo". Can anyone give me some more info about this art. I was watching a couple vids on youtube about it, and it seems...
Hi folks,
This came to my mind a couple weeks back but never thought of asking you guys about your opinions.
What type of taekwondo teacher is best ? In other words, are traditional teachers better, the ones who know the core of the art, or modern teachers, the ones who are up to date with...
Lately I've been seeing students at my school either drop out or not coming to class on a regular basis and I think it's probably because of martial arts burnout.
I haven't really experienced burnout during my Taekwondo Training, but I've been thinking, "what will I do if that happens to me?"...
I know Taekwondo isn't a Filipino martial art but hopefully there are a lot of Filipinos in this section who are knowledgeable of martial arts centres in Philippines, especially within the San Pedro, Laguna Area.
I'm looking for a Taekwondo training facillity, but googling it doesn't help...

I've been youtubing lately the concept of Tang Soo Do and seems like their kicks, and sparring are the same as TaeKwondo. Do any expert TSDers know the main difference between the two arts and the most prominent aspect of Tang Soo Do ?
JKD is interesting me more and more everytime I watch Tommy Carruthers on Youtube. With that being said, are the practitioners recognized by belts or just practice over time? How long would it take to be a good JKD student such as Tommy Carruthers ?
I've been reading up on Wikipedia about the difference between Krav Maga and Systema, and both arts seem to be the same :duh:. All I really know about these two arts is that they teach self-defense tactics in tight spaces, which can be used in real-life situations. The difference, one is...
Well guys, I've been training in taekwondo for more than 7 years and the thought of learning a secondary martial art has been coming up lately and I don't really know which art to choose. I'm looking for an art that gives me a taste of Grappling, throwing, striking (hand), and self-defense but...
What would you say is the best martial art to defend oneself on the street. Explain why it is the best.
I would like to know so that I can get an idea of each type of martial art
What's the main difference between Hapkido & Taekwondo and which art would be more practical to use when defending oneself on the streets ?
As well, I would like to hear from anyone what they think would be the best type of martial art to learn to for self-defense because I am interested in...
Can anyone briefly explain to me the main difference between Aikido & Judo? I was interested in taking Judo as a secondary art, but it seems like the ethics of Judo are more brutal than Aikido. I am currently a 4th dan Taekwondo Black belt, but i'm not sure if my conditioning is up to standards...
I am curious to know if Muay Thai uses belts to rank their skill level. I know that a lot of arts use Belts, but I'm not too sure if Muay Thai does. Can anyone tell me how Muay Thaiers are ranked, if not by belts
Thanks
I am interested in training in the art of Judo but it seems like there aren't many legit schools nearby. I've came across a school that teaches several martial arts but their main focus was primarily on taekwondo. I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on finding a good school, and if...
Hi guys,
I was wondering how long it takes to achieve black belt status in Judo because I am interested in learning judo. I would also appreciate it if anyone knows the training time between 1st Degree to 2nd Degree.
Thanks
