Haha, yes I love the opening bow etc for that little mental preparation too. Ah @donald1 I didn't know you were a Goju guy! Am very much interested in Goju ryu, and out of all the clubs I've tried it peaks my interest the most, so am definitely searching them all out

Have you ever considered quitting your MA(s)?

Yeah cool thread idea, even though an old one! My first style I trained for a couple of years and grew disillusioned with it and didn't feel it had the depth I was looking for. Left and found that after a couple of years that the MA bug was burning inside me... so I looked around and the next...

    Does anybody recognize this kata?

Ah g'day, welcome to the forums :) Hmm that's a really interesting kata.. never heard of it nor seen it before... and like you say it doesn't overly resemble Unsu kata... looks like it has a bit of Goju influence, but it looks like you guys have a few Goju katas too. I'm guessing it's unique...

Oh and this was totally a hilarious joke reference to the band the Cranberries' song "Ode To My Family", but it fell very flat! But that's okay, that's okay! I'm here all week!

Is there a martial art I can learn despite having balance issues due to injuries?

G'day and welcome! I'd honestly approach it the same as anyone, check out local schools of styles you have an interest in, and like mentioned, talk the instructor about any limitations you have and get honest feedback from them if it would be a problem at all. A great deal of places do cater for...

Today's workout - Arm is for offense and pain. Waist is for power and speed.

Nice. I also love seeing people's training schedules too, how they structure it, how frequent and long, what they're emphasising at the moment etc, gives alot of great ideas! Mine has certainly evolved a LOT over time, and it definitely reflects what I'm valuing as a whole in life, and what I'm...

    Another good day of training

Received my massage gun today, already looks VERY promising! Not only multiple attachments and long battery life, but it'll help ya out in a sticky street fight jam! JowGaWolf, everyone, get in on this, this may be the secret we're all looking for! Will report back in a little while on how...

It feels good to be back.

So awesome to hear brother :) back into it! Things in Aus have been pretty stable so most places have been back to normal for a while, have been able to train with some folk which has been really nice, just still on the search for a new club :)

    Forum Update April 2021

On my phone it shows a little circle on the bottom right of each alert, if it hasn't been read it'll be black, otherwise it's see-through (all the ones in this image are see-through/already-seen alerts)

    Another good day of training

Awesome to hear mate, sorry your legs aren't doing too great. Yeah just work around them as best as you can, and within pain free ranges. That's a win :) I actually just ordered a massage gun for myself (if that's sorta what you mean), can't wait to see how it goes and wonder how it compares...

Really cool people were watching the rooster eat blueberries... but that only resulted in powerlifters wrestling people with swords!

    UFC 261 Weidman leg breaks!!!

Cool vid man :) Am not a MMA practitioner, but my primary style was Kyokushin, in which powerful kicks were used alot, espeeeecially low kicks. We never did any shin conditioning like the Muay Thai guys but did condition for thigh kicks. I dunno, we just went for it, and yeah of course I...
