    Striking or grappling

I've been out of martial arts for a few years now because of being on blood thinners. But I'm no longer on the thinners so I'm looking to get back into it. But I have a question. Which is harder on the hands, wrists and fingers: striking or grappling? I ask because my job is very dependent on my...

    Training on blood thinners

What styles would be best for me? Boxing, Muay Thai, etc? Also, what partner drills and forms would you suggest? In a way having to be able to do as much as I can on my own by myself and stay sharp on self defense is good. I say this because I am a professional touring musician. So I pretty...

    Training on blood thinners

Would not Aikido still be considered grappling? And with the throws landing on my head would be bad news for a possible brain bleed.

    Training on blood thinners

Thank you all for the replies. I've been told by some that one can't learn self defense without contact and sparring. But because of my situation I have to find a way.
