That's true but OP was about Olympics though.

    And that moment I sighed.

I'm disgusted with UFC, MMA, and...

Nothing wrong with having personal goals but my point is mainly, there was a time that first, second and third was incredible and people were proud of second and third. (still strive for 1st as well) Now it feels it's only about 1st, all other results are failures to be 1st. It's interesting...

I'm disgusted with UFC, MMA, and...

I think this is the norm now in most competitive sport. I watch my kids now in sports and they are not happy until they are in first place or win the cup. I honestly think it started by the schools watering down competitive sports to the sense of participation awards for everything. The kids...

    First class thoughts, and ouch.

I have a feeling my fingers slid between the mats keeping them straightened, and his weight went on my wrist compressing it down. This part is definitely hazy as it all happened so fast and I didn't actually realize what had happened. So I'm thinking the break happened at that time, but the...

    First class thoughts, and ouch.

Yeah, I'm hoping not to make it a common occurrence. I can't punch a bag yet with out pain shooting up the hand and fingers, so will see if I can attend class still and take it easy on the hand, then once it's recovered take a look at the MMA side of things.

Is it OK for my child to be humiliated?

You would have to be correct, the upper body on gymnasts is phenomenal.

    First class thoughts, and ouch.

I've been out of action for about 6 months unable to train or hit the weights, but thought I'd share.. Due to change in my hours and work load from my employer. I'm unable to get to my regular training gym on time (I work 1.5 hours drive from home\dojo). After a few months going nuts from not...

Weird, I just typed it in on a few 10 machines and calc. pops up. Maybe there is a install off the store fro free so you can choose which one. But each to their own, if Win 7 does it for you, may as well hold out till it goes end of life. :)

Calc is still there, Cortana can do the speech stuff, maybe in time you might try it again. Personally I like Windows 10, much better transition than 8, and runs nicely. But I've been running it since beta and preview. Set up Speech Recognition - Windows Help

What fiction book are you currently reading?

Just finished 'The Way of Kings' by Brandon Sanderson, onto the second volume Words of Radiance. Would have to rate it in my top 10 of all time books, it contained great story line and the psychology and philosophy found throughout was very clever.

Is it OK for my child to be humiliated?

Just because other parents do nothing, it doesn't make it right. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept. I personally don't like the idea of putting feet on a child to show dominance. (Reminds me of old Kung-fu movies) But you will find it's fairly common practice in MA, I have...

Are all instructor's techniques written in stone?

I'd encourage you to spend the time and train at the places your interested in for a few weeks each, you will then get a feel for the martial art, the club culture and the instruction. Base your decision on what you have experienced.

    Finally put the Smoker together

I tried to look up the bbq mesh your using but can find plenty of sales but nothing about how it's used etc. Is it to drain fat as it cooks? Easier to remove than from the grill?

    Finally put the Smoker together

I think we have all done that before. Intrigued me to look up more about smokers, not something you see in Aus very often or at all.

A man does not excel because of his style. It's only when a man can go outside the bounds set by his system that he can excel. If a marital artist can practice a style without being bound and limited to his particular school, then and only then can he be liberated to fission with any type of...

Why does MMA count as an own martial art now ?

A triathlon is a multiple-stage competition involving the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines. While many variations of the sport exist, triathlon, in its most popular form, involves swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances...

It's an opinion, I don't see anything factual in it, but a reflection of his own learning. We can all decide take it or leave it, and how we see it will be a reflection of ourselves and how we were taught. Some conservative, others progressive. In someway I see it as his way of pointing out...

    Blue belt second stripe....Online?

So you can learn bjj online, just may not be at the same speed and accuracy as school based? I don't think anyone was disputing that more sparring is paramount. But if we keep to the basis that not all people are equal or skill\learning levels, we could say that the person in Brian's video...
