Wing Chun in the East Bay

Hello all! I'm looking for an Ip Man lineage of Wing Chun in the East Bay of California. Manteca, Stockton, Tracy or Livermore. I've seen East West Wing Chun in Oakland which looks pretty good, it's just a bit of a trek for me which means fewer times I can attend. Any help is greatly...

    Schools in Lexington?

I know it's not Lexington, but can anyone shed any light on this place? I'm always suspicious of a place that says they know all styles, in this case, Chen, Yang, Sun, only missing Wu. Shouldn't 1 style take many many years?

    Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo

Does your Suio Ryu dojo have an emphesis on the unarmed? I know it's in the art, I'm just wondering how much is still being taught. Thank you.

    Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo

I do apologize If you feel I was putting any particular art or dojo on blast, this was not my intention. That being said this is an open forum and I wanted to hear from someone from that particular dojo and didn't know who was, and then you came :uhyeah:. I would go to the dojo if I could, but...

    Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo

Thank you, I will definatley check that art out! Well yes I did study Wing Chun and loved it. I found it was lacking for me, not in a martial way, but a life way, if you will. The Japanese arts just speak to me. I find them to be more about a way of life than a skill set, that's all, I would...

    XKan in Ft. Drum area?

Hello everyone. I am asking a question for a "friend" wink, wink, lol no really I am. We are currently in Afghanistan and he has began to take an interest in the Xkans, can't say which one due to lack of experience and knowladge. I'm not going to give my opinion to him of one or the...

    Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo

To be honest I kind of am, or was looking for something that may have a little more unarmed emphases. But that doesn't mean I wont do an art that doesn't emphases it to my liking. That is why Shinkendo caught my attention. You can take Iaido, or Aikibujutsu apart or together, so you can control...

    Suio Ryu Iai Kenpo

So I've seen the Suio Ryu website in Anaheim CA, which is my home town, and I like what I see very much. My question is, with this particular art and dojo, cause some schools may not train in one area or another as much as another school may, is there a Jujutsu curriculum. Most of the info I...

    Aikido and Aikibujutsu in Shinkendo

Okay, so there's no way to really "pin point" the sword techniques.

    Aikido and Aikibujutsu in Shinkendo

Hello everyone. I had a question about the two. Currently I'm in Afghanistan so it's difficult for me to give the dojo a call to talk to them so I thought I would pick your brains, but when I return to the states, Los Angeles, I'm really looking into Shinkendo, among others. On the Honbu site...

    Aikido and Aikibujutsu

Okay so what about Shinkendo? I am definatley more on the combat side, but very much enjoy the traditional side also. Would you say they are more on the combat side, given it's a more modern art, or wouod you say it's more of a......I don't want to use the term flowery but.....well you know...

    Aikido and Aikibujutsu

okay, cause I notice Daito Ryu lists as Aikibujutsu also so this makes sence. So it's more "combat" related, you'd say?

    Internal

That's a good, interesting question. A few years ago in Orange County CA, I visited a Wudang Sifu named Master Bing, who has since very unfortunatly (for my own selfish reasons) left CA and gone back to Wudang. There is still a reminisce of his school with, I'm not sure how many students, as...

Hello, I'm new to the Chinese arts, my background is in the Japanese arts, although I'm very interested/intrigued in the Internal arts. Can Qi Gong, or Hsing I be used as defense or is this more of the meditation and health side of things? Also my main iterests are Wing Chun and/or Praying...
