Dharma and Drama
“When you present the truth those who recognize truth will treat truth as Dharma and be attracted to Dharma. Those who fear truth will treat truth as Drama and be attracted to Drama.” ~ Yun Sunim
It has been said by those wiser than me that the practicing of...
You just thought you were calling me out :) But in this thread, like your other, I can see you are certainly into what you think is "calling people out".
The only protocol I see here is your own agenda. Here you love to argue, then at the same time state "answer the question or move on."...
All good points. The problem is that some people, not all, get an idea the uniform and belt is some kind of holy object. Of course the uniform should be treated well as you treat other clothes, keep it nice and clean, pressed and looking your best. But who cares if someone ends up out to lunch...
First, you give your self to much credit, you never called me out on anything. Second, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Obviously in the case (or many many cases :) you personally witnessed their instructor did not care, why should you?
In 1954 the naming committee was looking through Hanja books trying find Hanja for the Korean word "Taekkyon", because President Rhee called the martial arts demonstration they were watching "Taekkyon."
But Taekkyon is a pure Korean word, with no corresponding Hanja (traditional Chinese...
Like this dandy new law. American citizens can be arrested by our government, and held forever, without a trail or a right to legal counsel.
Maybe, maybe not, but so far, it's seems like maybe. See Gnarlie's post above.
I aim to study pretty deeply in every single aspect of Taekwondo, so I am interested in others experience in kupsu or vital points. I know the term "hyeol" which seems close to the first part of your term, but I...
GM Rhee is from the Oh Do Kwan, they trained with talyunbong, aka forging post.
ITF founder and KTA President CHOI Hong Hi had diagrams in his books on how to build and use the talyunbong, the KTA members were all from kwan that used the talyunbong.
From interview with GM Rhee of Australia...
If you have been to Korea, or a Korea Town in your country, have you ever been to a Jjimjilbang?
If you have been to them in Korea, do you just visit a short while, or do you also sleep there for the night?
The development of the reverse punch in the “Old School” days of the Kwan was centered around training on the “talyunbong”, or, in ground makiwara, for all schools. Today this practice has mostly disappeared in favor of the use of more modern training equipment and...
You were very specific.

I simply wanted to know which "Old School Organizations" by name, if you can.
OK, here is the original:

I get it, you say that plenty of Karate Systems would hold that opinion, the opinion that without makiwara training, there is...
The official name of the kwan headquarters in Korean language is "Dae Han Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan Jhoong Bon Kwan."
To use the general name of the kwan, not the headquarters, it would just be "Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan." The general name of all kwan would start with the word "Taekwondo" first...
Here is what you wrote:
If you are referring to Taekwondo organizations in your first sentence, which ones?
In your second sentence, you are referring to Karate systems, hence my question. Which karate organizations would that be?
For those interested. A recommendation for children who shy away from competitive sports to instead try non-competitive sports. They have listed Karate, but any martial art can apply as both a competitive sport, like sparring, and a non-competitive sport, like makiwara practice.
