One of my stepdaughter's best friends is half okinawan. Her mother told her that her grandfather was Shikichi Miyagi. I've googled the name and it comes up as being in some sort of encyclopedia of Okinawan masters but no real information. Does anyone else no anything about him? It would be cool...

Good Modern Arnis in Western Washington?

Tacoma is a little far afield for me but I wouldn't rule out seminars in the future.

Good Modern Arnis in Western Washington?

I've noticed that. The empty hand stuff almost has a southern praying mantis meets wing chun quality-which appeals to me. Plus its impossible to find a negaive opinion of Guro Hufana.

Good Modern Arnis in Western Washington?

Thanks. That's good to know. Being in between styles, if this worked out for him I might give it a shot as well. It might freak me out to step away from Chinese styles but it would be fun to train with my brother.

    WC in the cage/springfield mo

    Tchoung style Tai Chi Chuan!!!

One of my old teachers (Dave Harris, who I think of as my once and future sensei) raved about Tchoung. Said he could do his whole form of large frame symmetrical old yang on a small table top to demonstrate that you didn't need alot space for taiji. Plus he said Tchoung easily embarassed a...
