    Let's talk dummy

Absolutely there is benefit to doing the "Hong Jong"!! Obviously the dummy isn't going to move for you. There are techniques on the dummy where you have to use your imagination and picture finishing a motion that you can't finish because the dummy arm doesn't move the way an opponent's arm...

    Wing Chun's Central Concept

Good point! So, from that perspective, JKD is a Wing Chun approach because in JKD there is still the use of Lop Sau as well as trapping.

    Wing Chun's Central Concept

That's fine John. But that's not really the topic of this thread and has nothing to do with the OP.

    Wing Chun's Central Concept

Jason Korol has great materials. He is a Ted Wong student and excellent Wing Chun guy. https://www.youtube.com/user/JKDandWingChun Greenville Academy of Martial Arts Amazon.com : jason korol

    Wing Chun's Central Concept

I realized that I was just "reinventing the wheel"! The work has already been done.....by Bruce Lee!! JKD is essentially "Wing Chun Boxing." JKD is Bruce Lee's combination of Wing Chun and Western Boxing (with a few other ideas thrown in) as his means of making Wing Chun work from longer...

    Three Seeds of Wing Chun

True! I recognize that analogies like this will only take you so far and all break down at some point. But after thinking about it for awhile now, what I came up with seems the most internally consistent....at least to me! ;)

    Three Seeds of Wing Chun

Did anyone learn this concept in their lineage? So far I have seen it in Ho Kam Ming/Augustine Fong lineage, Wong Shun Leung lineage, and Lee Shing lineage (maybe from Lok Yiu?).

    Solo Training for Chum Kiu

We'll see how long it lasts! I haven't been around for awhile because last time I got banned for several months for no apparent reason. If the moderators are still that heavy-handed, then I won't be here for long.

    Solo Training for Chum Kiu

Here is my contribution for some solo training ideas during this pandemic. How is your Chum Kiu form?

The 3 main empty hand forms

Biu Gee for "emergency techniques." The form is about recovering from a "Bai Ying" position. The opponent has put you at a disadvantage by making you turn, fold, cross your arms, etc. The form is about recovering from that position. It isn't about "super deadly secret" techniques at all...

The 3 main empty hand forms

Hi Guys! I haven't checked in here in a LONG time! Do the moderators still ban people at the drop of a hat?? Anyway, this thread caught my eye, and I might have a little bit to contribute. ;) I like to look at this topic in two ways, which are essentially related. The first idea is...

Is a Stab a "show stopper"??

Nope. The warning was specifically for "baiting, trolling, or aggressive posting." Nothing was said about my comments concerning the moderator's actions. And you cannot discuss an infraction given by the mods because they refuse to respond. The PM I received about this thread didn't even...
