    Seeking Fu Jow Pai

I'm just shooting the dark here, but I have had an interest in Fu Jow Pai Kung Fu for many years. The problem is that I live in South Carolina and the last time I checked, I could only find schools in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Does anyone know of any schools in SouthCarolina, North...

    JKD without Wing Chun?

In Enter the Dragon there is a scene that was not in the original release, but was later restored on DVD. It is the scene after Bruce Lee's sparring match with Sammo Hung. The monk is questioning him about the fight and Bruce Lee refers to his fist " hitting all by itself ", and " there is no...

Straight lead is this how its done?

Wall bag training helps with this. Also, aim the punch at opponents nose. The cartiladge provides a softer target. LOL

    My oldest Martial Arts Book

Moving Zen by C.W Nicol. I got this book when it came out in, I think 1971, and I loved it then and I still do today. I started my martial arts training at about this same time. This was a special time. I was 14 years old attending a Shotokan Karate school in Charlotte N.C. A friend of mine got...

    Martial arts Art

I'm new here and this may be an unusual question. I am an artist , as well as being an artist. I was wondering if it is o.k. for me to post martial arts related art on the forum and if so, where?

Chinese and Southeast Asian Martial Arts

I guess it's like Okinawan Karate. They already had an art called Te. They combined it with the forms and techniques that they learned from the Chinese and called it Karate.

New Book: Bruce Lee - The Evolution of a Martial Artist

They are all mentioned in the book, especially Jesse Glover, however, I think he got most of the Seattle info from Taky Kimura. Taky is in the photos demonstrating the Seattle techniques. I'm not sure about Leroy Garcia, Ed Hart passed away about 14 or 15 years ago. Jesse Glover passed 2 years...

Chinese and Southeast Asian Martial Arts

I practice both Chinese and Southeast Asian martial arts. Does any one have any knowledge as to the influence of Chinese martial arts on S.E. Asian arts such as Silat, Muay Thai and Kali- Escrima- Arnis. Some say that it all comes from China. I have always wondered if this is true or did people...

Straight lead is this how its done?

A couple of more things are involved in this punch. One is that the hand should move before the foot and the other is that the fist should hit the target before the foot touches the ground.. Moving the hand first is the hardest part ( I'm still working on that ) Bruce Lee got this from fencing...

New Book: Bruce Lee - The Evolution of a Martial Artist

This is an awesome book ! I got it as soon as it came out and read it from cover to cover. I buy a lot of JKD books just because they are JKD books and neverreally read them, because they usually cover the same material. This book, however is a must read for anyone with an interest in Bruce Lee...
