    111 degree weather.

I trained in a garage twice this week when it was 115. As others have said you need to hydrate well in advance. We also trained slower/ with less intensity than normal -- this is key. Of course this is all going to vary from person to person (age, weight, etc).

Is the local Krav Maga school legit or a McDojo?

Good point. MMA has been more than fun for me!!!

Is the local Krav Maga school legit or a McDojo?

Thanks for finding that. It looks like takes a combined total of 156 hours of testing (21 days at 8 hours a day). Real question here: What's it take to be able to teach in most martial arts? I've mostly trained in MMA, and I never gave it much thought as long as the instructors knew a lot more...

Is the local Krav Maga school legit or a McDojo?

Yeah, it makes plenty of sense to me. It makes me think that he comes from a background of styles with resisting opponents, which I place a lot of value in. My hope would be that if it was total crap he'd modify it to be more realistic. However, you're correct in that I do need to do more...

Is the local Krav Maga school legit or a McDojo?

Creds obtained through Krav Maga Worldwide, which seems to be a pretty big place, but yeah it appears from my limited research that one doesn't really need to train in KM to get certified to teach it.

Is the local Krav Maga school legit or a McDojo?

Greetings. So I've trained off and on in MMA over the years and always said if I was going to do anything other than MMA it would likely be Krav. I took a free class at a school last week and it was hitting pads and then doing a "gun to the back" defense. I then came home and started googling...

Which training type has the most injuries?

Thanks. Not expecting a study, just a best guess based on experience.

Which training type has the most injuries?

Greetings. If you were to look at MMA, which type of training do you think generates the most injuries. Lets say the types are wrestling, striking, and ground work. Also note that I'm really curious about injuries during training, not actual fights. Thanks!

    Weightlifting for martial arts

Nope, not that old.... but I'm also not as young as 95% of the students.

    Weightlifting for martial arts

I took a couple years off of MA's due to a knee injury, but was able to keep lifting weights with mostly 300 type workouts during that time. A few months ago, at the ripe old age of 43 with lots of injuries, I joined an MMA gym. By my unofficial count, out of 200 students, there are < 10 of us...

    Closed fist vs Palm?

Greetings. I rarely post here but I'm pretty familiar with this topic and it sounded like fun on a boring day. I started open palm striking years ago after spraining a wrist. Personally, I found that after some time I can hit significantly hard this way. I'll admit it doesn't work (for me) with...
