I remember going to the then named Chuck Norris Karate studio at 14556 Ventura Boulevard Sherman Oaks because I needed to get into shape. I owned a restaurant right across the street at 14661 Venture Blvd by the name of Flooky's Hot Dogs. Almost there for 20 years. I remember all the guy quite well.
Just a couple of blocks from my old dojo. I remember Norris opening up his school after Joe Lewis left (before that it was a judo school.) Flooky's was my favorite hot dog back then, and still, after almost 50 years, is unchallenged for the best Chicago dog ever. I do miss the old days.
