Whilst I am a big fan of the BBC's website as a source of news, discussion, opinion and information, I never expected to see an article about high heels on there ... well not an article about non-transvestite men wearing high-heels anyhow!

The historical basis for the cowboy boot. :)

I believe that the cowboy boot actually is based off of the Wellington and Hessian boots. Prior to the Civil War cowboys just wore what was available.

And high heels..I think that they have been causing mayhem since at least ancient Egypt.

Can't argue there :D. Not so sure about fellows in high heels (cowboy boots get a pass :D) but, if a lass learns how to walk in them elegantly, my word does she look wonderful. Always puts me in mind of the grace of a gazelle when I see a woman walking in heels who has mastered the shortfalls of their inherent terrible design (from a practical point of view) :).
