Why Innocent People Confess To Crimes

Armchair observers may scoff at the idea of confessing to a crime you're innocent of, but think about it, 7 straight hours of intense interrogation? Those who've mentally trained themselves could probably endure it, but I doubt the average citizen would be able to without caving, or at least saying something stupid.

All the more reason that confessions and eye-witness accounts should be viewed in favor of the defendant; they're unreliable as all hell.

Absolutely every time an attempt is make to speak to you by police at the station, you always immediately invoke your right to counsel. Whether you are a suspect, witness, or person of interest. Never speak without counsel.
