not a movie more a tv series

its called warrior and has a writing credit to bruce lee,

despite that ist was really quite good, set in 1800s frisco, centring on the tension between the Irish and Chinese immigrants and the war between the tongs.

well staged, well acted, realistic looking fights.

i say realistic, kung fu looks great, but so does the Irish boxing
im surprised that no one else on here has ever mentioned IT, that ive seen, considering the band width karate kid has used

I recently discovered that my wife had never seen Kung Fu Hustle, so I had to rewatch it with her. (She loved it - it’s right up her alley.)

Also a tv series, but into the badlands. Western mixed with post apocalyptic society mixed with unrealistic chinese kungfu. Just about everything you could want in a TV show.

The Master (Bei pan shi men (1980) - IMDb)

Terrible movie. But reminds me of Kung Fu Theater on the USA network in the 80s.

Kung Fu Hustle is also great. I watched that with my adult kids a few months ago. We also watched Shaolin Soccer.

Not a movie, but I'm also playing Ghosts of Tsushima right now and enjoying it. Not a perfect game by any stretch, but the fights are really fun, particularly if you play in "Kurasawa Mode" (which basically means, in Japanese with English subtitles, and the video is a grainy black and white.)

Lol everyone calls it a classic....I tried to watch it last year for the first time ever....it was terrible lol. The acting sure you can accept bad acting in those movies but even the fights were awful

Everything about it was cringe-worthy. We couldn’t put ourselves through it.

Recently we watched “The Warrior’s Way”. It is a mix of kung-fu theater/ninja meets Western meets broken down carnival in the desert, done in the style of a graphic novel. It was intensely entertaining.

I’ve never been a huge van damm fan. Personally I think the new kick-boxer movies are better than the old ones. Still not great but better than the first one and JCVD was a way better actor as the trainer.

Last one I caught was avengement with Scott Adkins. I like Adkins movies. He’s got good fighting and he’s a pretty good actor (he’s a English man who convinced millions he was actually Russian)

this one he plays a guy who get set up by his brother and sent to prison and his brother tries to have him killed inside so he transforms himself from a decent guy into a cold blooded killer then breaks out and goes after his brother. It’s a very basic story but he’s good in the role and the fights are brutal and well done
