thanks.
I think I need to get started on putting something on my stuff. I think I could use Paint, but I am sure it would be a pain in the buttocks.
I wonder if GIMP has the feature?
Hmmm

I'd put it more on par with Corel -- Photoshop has become a very powerful suite of applications. Regardless though -- its a fine editing program that will do a lot. I'm sure it can do what you want to with watermarking -- you may even be able to do some fancy stuff like adding a translucent watermark.

Adobe Lightroom -- although there is no customization of size or font or color.

What version of Lightroom are you using? You can change the font, font size and color in Lightroom 4.

what do you use to watermark your pictures?

Photoshop. I have an action scripted that does all my final touches for me: resize for web, sharpen, update EXIF data and overlay watermark.

too bad I can't do a single thing with photoshop...
It is not something you can learn on your own (and my Brother-in-law is one of those people who does not like to bother teaching people what he knows. He's a bit of a jerk about that)
I had it once, got rid of it because of that (no, did not pay for it, other wise I'd still be crying)

GIMP is kind of like that, but at least it's free...

Seems like I have to bite the bullet and take some classes...

My wife and I are both self-taught at Photoshop. Haven't spent any time in a classroom for it.
Hit a library, borrow a few dummys books, raid Youtube for video tutorials, and beat the snot out of it. :)
Remember the name Scott Kelby. He will be your new sensei. :)
