I'm sure some of you own Togakure-ryu style swords and have cut with them... how did you feel the experience differed from traditional Tameshigiri?

Anyone have tips (other than stand closer, haha) for cutting with one? I did some over the weekend, and it turned out ok, but I noticed my cuts were not as clean with that blade, and that I cut better using Kiriage than Kesagiri...

Thoughts?

The couple of times I've been able to use a blade to Togakure ryu specs I found it did require me to shift to more of an extended position at the strike and really emphasize the pushing action of the cut. I found that "wringing the towel" with the right hand a bit more than the left eliminated the scooping on kiri age that I was seeing, something that I'd thought I'd trained out of myself years ago.
