"shogun" and "the samurai"

Just curious as to what peoples thoughts are on the old 60's the samurai series and the movie 'shogun',for those that have seen them i am interested in your feedback...are they worthy to add to the DVD collection?

If and when I begin building my own DVD collection... Shogun (tv mini-series) and anything made by Kurosawa regarding the Samurai will definitely be part of it. I've seen six of the Kurosawa films that have samurai influences or main plot lines and I love them all. They've been high on my list of best films of all time for a while now.
Rashomon while not heavy on the MA/fighting aspects of the Samurai lore it is a terrific film in showing just how different the truth can be. Same story told four times by four different people and there is no solution but your own.
