the last thing that i want to do right now
is scream one more line
about the words that fall from your mouth
landing somewhere just short of my feet
some long, sad, boring list of let downs
that i have talked about a thousand times before
some spark i thought i saw in you
needed to see in you
wished i could see in you
but was just a damn bluff
i threw away aces and you showed me deuces
the key is having the guts to raise with
the second highest hand
i have spent so much time
folding bad cards and eating my words
i've said some awful things to some real good people
that now i no longer have a problem admitting when i am wrong
and can just sit back and wait for the next deal to come
and if the worst thing in my life
is long-*** rides and hug filled good-byes
and i can still be mystified
by pretty smiles, crushes and mix tapes
then i guess things really aren't so bad
and i have never known much about silver linings
but i can look around this van and see
five faces that breath life into me
kings full of jacks
splash my chips across the table
take my shot
i'm all in

Hey Ed :) good 2hear from you :) :)
So Bane is it eh? Man, this is REAL hardcore stuff, remind me to stay outta your way when you've got your big mad Bane head on!! Good one though and I wonder in what clubs or venues you get those kicks round by your way??? OK.... lemme see what DJ has for ya, LOL. Right I'm back to Alec Empire again because that's about as "hardcore" as I get ha! And I love this one not least because if you listen there's that little sample of Trinity from the Matrix and that looped riff from the soundtrack too. Anyway this gets me ready for more brutal choons and action later on, ha! "Addicted to You"....

Doesn't matter what I believe
Doesn't matter what I believe
You mess me up and I want you to hear
Got it right back and I want you to hear
When you walk, when you talk
you're so full of lies
excuse me
When I'm gonna die
I don't care what you're like
Doesn't feel like you

I'm addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
I'm addicted to you
Cos you get me through
Cos you get me through

The first injection wasn't free
Doesn't matter what I believe
Doesn't matter what I believe
There ain't no station
It ain't no fiction what I believe
It ain't no fiction what I believe
Staring at New York City
Missing those the ones I hate
Compensate
Alienation
The new centre of my renewed faith is too late

I want you to hear
You mess me up and I want you to hear
Doesn't matter what I believe
Doesn't matter what I believe

I'm addicted to you

Hey Ed :)
Where you from my man? Not Wales??? Bane in Wales just ain't right now, LOL! :D Seriously when I thought of Wales I was thinking everything from the Stereophonics to Catatonia (remember them??) to Goldie Lookin Chain, ha! Which reminds me you're not a Big Brother fan?? This latest cohort what a complete load of _ _s, ha! Anyway I'm sure you must CHILL sometime can't be banging forever?? Well anyway, Wales for me = Super Furry Animals and here is a little "Undefeated" to get ya a bit mellowed after you've gone a few rounds with your friend the wooden dummy!! :) I love this it reminds me of pre-fight boxing training like Rocky or something don't ask me why I mean there's the title but with that cool ska beat going on.... Oh btw, I love your avatar, there's something really sinister going on there or maybe its just me. When I seen it, I couldn't help thinking of some character from the League of Gentlemen carving someone up for tea, LOL. I forgot me meds today maybe that's it. Anyway I'll "shut it" as Regan from the Sweeney would say :D here ya go..."Undefeated"

Step, step into my shoes
I'll try and make you understand
I live my life without a plan
I need no guidance
Just your patience

For so shallow, the undefeated
(Noise pollution solution)
For so shallow, the undefeated

Every animal has its day
We will chase the Phantoms away

For so shallow the undefeated
(Noise pollution solution)
Yes so shallow, the undefeated
Yes so shallow, the undefeated

Hey jenna,
I'm not from wales, i'm in bristol at the moment but wales is pretty close:) And bane is from massachusettsso the welsh connection only goes so far!! I really like the soundtrack to rocky!! But i think lyric wise i would have to choose another hardcore anthem. Thanks for the comments on my avatar, i never really thought of it as sinister but if you like it then thats not important:) Yours is pretty neat also, kinda angelic and it also reminded me of constantine! I'm always pretty calm and chilled, i'm not like all hot headed or anything, i guess just passionate. I try with all my might to avoid big brother, it just sucks you in and its such a waste of time, it seems to be on more and more and people are getting scarily addicted to living vicariously through their tv set. Reminds me a another neat hardcore song, this ones old and from the 80's by a band called gorilla biscuits.

Sitting down on a couch, you watch,a ****ing slave to a TV show.
You thought before but you sat and dropped.
What did you learn?
You don't even know, and I kid myself but my eyes are glued on this thing.
It steals my time and wastes what I've learned.

I'm holding out for a better deal, for something real.
You know I'd like to say that I could spend a day at home with it left off.
How stong's our will?
STAND STILL

I can't blend with the ads I see.
They're better looking than me.
you try to look your best, but you'll never rest.
Think, it won't make you happy.
A standard set that i just cannot Live up to.

It steals my time and wastes what I've learned.
I'm holding out for a better deal, for something real.
You know I'd like to say that I could spend a say at home with it left off.
How stong's our will - STAND STILL

Our Lives are led by TV shows, you know it's true.
Instead of thinking we play Donkey Kong
There's something wrong with that.
We're made to think life is like a game show.
So here we go again.
The one who dies with the most toys is the one who wins.
I just can't stand it.

Sitting down on a couch, you watch, a ****ing slave to a TV show.
You thought before but you sat and dropped.
What did you learn?
You don't even know.
Is it a brain vacation, or mental masturbation?
It steals my time and wastes what I've learned.
I'm holding out for some reality.
I'd like to say that I could spend a day at home with it left off.
How stong 's our will?
STAND STILL

80s?? You were banging to Gorilla Biscuits and I was um.... a Bros-ette, ha! don't be tellin anybody though!! Ok, I'll give you this and then I really will "Shut it". Since you've outpaced me for hardcore I'm gonna go back to my hometown boys Blur and some "Coffee and TV" with a similar sentiment to yours and I love this choon just because it reminds me of lazy summer schooldays and the smell of cut grass on sports day and I put this on sometimes just to hear friendly accents though you feel free to disagree Bristol boy, LOL :D....

So give me Coffee and TV
Peacefully
I've seen so much
I'm goin blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away form this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again

Title: Blood Of My Enemies

Three sons have I,and they
Ride by my side.-The fierce,
The black, and the wicked are
their names-we ride down my
enemies on their half-hearted flight.
No voice of mercy-no evangels of light.

Mighty messengers-heathens rage
Witness our coming-gods of the dead.
I ride through the air-
I laugh as I die-with powers of evel
Dark knowledge is mine.
The 1st sin was trust.-
Kill without warning-for blood now
I lust

Strong wind-magic mist
To Asgard the Valkries fly
High overhead-they carry the dead
Where blood of my enemies lies.

Three sons have I,and they
Ride by my side.-The fierce,
The black,and the wicked are
their names-we ride down my
enemies on their half-hearted flight.
No voice of mercy-no evangels of light.

Hey Wild Bill :) Sorry I missed ya and thank you for this and when I thought of this I thought of the less poetic but since none of y'all have mentioned I thought I should and needs no introduction ooooh just let that first chord ring out and gimme gimme gimme my distortion pedal, ha! Surely Ozz at his best and don't argue....

Now in darkness world stops turning,
ashes where the bodies burning.
No more War Pigs have the power,
Hand of God has struck the hour.
Day of judgement, God is calling,
on their knees the war pigs crawling.
Begging mercies for their sins,
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings.
Oh lord, yeah!

OK, I'll try it again.

Shooting Star
By Harry Chapin

He was crazy of course
From the first she must have known it
But still she went on with him
And she never once had shown it

And she took him off the street
And she dried his tears of grieving
She listened to his visions
She believed in his believe-ins

Oh, he was the sun burning bright and brittle
And she was the moon shining back his light a little
He was a shooting star
She was softer and more slowly
He could not make things possible
But, she could make them holy

He was dancing to some music
No one else had ever heard
He'd speak in unknown languages
She would translate every word
And then when the world was laughing
At his castles in the sky
She'd hold him in her body
Till he once again could fly

Oh, he was the sun burning bright and brittle
And she was the moon shining back his light a little
He was a shooting star
She was softer and more slowly
He could not make things possible
But, she could make them holy

Well, she gave him a daughter
And she gave him a son
She was a mother, and a wife,
And a lover when the day was done
He was too far gone for giving love
What he offered in its stead
Was the knowledge she was the only thing
That was not in his head

He took off East one morning
Towards the rising sun's red glow
She knew he was going nowhere
But of course she let him go
And as she stood and watched him dwindle
Much too empty to be sad
He reappeared beside her saying,"You're all I've ever had”

Oh, he was the sun burning bright and brittle
And she was the moon shining back his light a little
He was a shooting star
She was softer and more slowly
He could not make things possible
But, she could make them holyHoly

one more from Chapin: Taxi

It was raining hard in 'Frisco,
I needed one more fare to make my night.
A lady up ahead waved to flag me down,
She got in at the light.

Oh, where you going to, my lady blue,
It's a shame you ruined your gown in the rain.
She just looked out the window, and said
"Sixteen Parkside Lane".

Something about her was familiar
I could swear I'd seen her face before,
But she said, "I'm sure you're mistaken"
And she didn't say anything more.

It took a while, but she looked in the mirror,
And she glanced at the license for my name.
A smile seemed to come to her slowly,
It was a sad smile, just the same.
And she said, "How are you Harry?"
I said, "How are you Sue?
Through the too many miles
and the too little smiles
I still remember you."

It was somewhere in a fairy tale,
I used to take her home in my car.
We learned about love in the back of the Dodge,
The lesson hadn't gone too far.
You see, she was gonna be an actress,
And I was gonna learn to fly.
She took off to find the footlights,
And I took off to find the sky.

Oh, I've got something inside me,
To drive a princess blind.
There's a wild man, wizard,
He's hiding in me, illuminating my mind.
Oh, I've got something inside me,
Not what my life's about,
Cause I've been letting my outside tide me,
Over 'till my time, runs out.

Baby's so high that she's skying,
Yes she's flying, afraid to fall.
I'll tell you why baby's crying,
Cause she's dying, aren't we all.

There was not much more for us to talk about,
Whatever we had once was gone.
So I turned my cab into the driveway,
Past the gate and the fine trimmed lawns.
And she said we must get together,
But I knew it'd never be arranged.
And she handed me twenty dollars,
For a two fifty fare, she said
"Harry, keep the change."
Well another man might have been angry,
And another man might have been hurt,
But another man never would have let her go...
I stashed the bill in my shirt.

And she walked away in silence,
It's strange, how you never know,
But we'd both gotten what we'd asked for,
Such a long, long time ago.

You see, she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly.
She took off to find the footlights,
And I took off for the sky.
And here, she's acting happy,
Inside her handsome home.
And me, I'm flying in my taxi,
Taking tips, and getting stoned,
I go flying so high, when I'm stoned.

Oooh well mister Kreth :) here is a tasty treat for you to expand your horizons and I bet you have never heard of these cheeky saucy English boys been around for yonks and this is the classic Time Flies By (When You're The Driver of a Train) and of course the subtle references will mean nothing to ya I am sure but ahh what the h3ll, it's funny to me, ha!

Time flies by when you're the driver of a train
Speeding down to Trumpton with a cargo of cocaine
I get high when I'm the pilot of a plane
touching down in Camberwick and stoned out of my brain

Under bridges over bridges to our destination
Careful with that spliff Eugene it causes condensation

Every Saturday I get the cheeky skins
And they always smash my windows cos their home side always wins
Yeah time flies by when you're the driver of a train
Gonna get me s'ringes out and crank up once again

Under bridges over bridges to our destination
Careful with that spliff Eugene it causes condensation
A classic round these here parts LOL :D

Hey Michael :) thanks for these! Superbly poetic lyrics and an artist I have not heard before and I wonder what the accompanying music is like maybe folky Dylan or such?? But I will promise to check out once I get this stupid duff clockwork stop-start connection sorted. And well here is one close to my heart maybe and it is the splendid Al Wilson which you may know but covered by many many a simple story and message and just really a great choon and I hope you like :)

On her way to work one morning down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted up with the dew
"Oh well," she cried, "I'll take you in and I'll take care of you"
"Take me in oh tender woman, Take me in, for heaven's sake. Take me in oh tender woman," sighed the snake

She wrapped him up all cosy in a curvature of silk.
And she laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
She hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she'd taken in had been revived
"Take me in oh tender woman, Take me in, for heaven's sake. Take me in oh tender woman," sighed the snake

She clutched him to her bosom, "You're so beautiful!" She cried
"But if I had not have brought you in by now you would have died"
She stroked his pretty skin again and kissed and held him tight
But instead giving her the thanks he gave her a vicious bite
"Take me in oh tender woman, Take me in, for heaven's sake. Take me in oh tender woman," sighed the snake

"I saved you!" Cried that woman. "You have bit me even, while
You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm gonna die"
"Oh shut up, silly woman," said the reptile with a grin
"You knew I was a snake before you ever took me in."
"Take me in oh tender woman, Take me in, for heaven's sake. Take me in oh tender woman," sighed the snake

One of my favorite songs of all time:

After all you put me through
You'd think I despise you
But in the end, I wanna thank you
'Cause you made me that much stronger

When I, thought I knew you
Thinking that you were true
I guess I, I couldn't trust
Called your bluff, time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were, there by my side
Always down for the ride
But your, joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out of shame

After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But, uh-uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you

'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter

Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhhhhh, yeah, yeah yeah uh-huh...

Never saw it coming
All of your backstabbing
Just so you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard you're going 'round
Playing the victim now
But don't even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave

After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
No more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now
And never back down
So I wanna say thank you

'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter

Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

How could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust, so cruel
Could only see the good in you
Pretended not to see the truth
You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself
Through living in denial
But in the end you'll see
YOU! WON'T! STOP! ME!

I am a fighter (I'm a fighter) and I
I ain't goin' stop (I ain't goin' stop)
There is no turning back
I've had enough

Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

Thought I would forget
But I, I remember
yes, I remember
I'll remember

Thought I would forget
But I remember
I remember
I'll remember

'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
